Speaking at your event

“Not only was Guy well received by the audience at our customer conference, he was easy to work with in the lead up to the event, very personable and spent time interacting with our delegates. His professional, entertaining and well-tailored presentation especially for our audience helped in the overall success of the day. I would be happy to recommend Guy for future events.”

Andrew Tavener, Head of Marketing, Descartes UK

“I would recommend Guy wholeheartedly to any organisation seeking first-rate moderation from a truly world-class speaker.”

Peter Ryan, Ryan Advisory

“Both the presentation and the content really impressed me. If you work in a technology company and you run conferences and you’re looking for a speaker, then I do strongly recommend you speak to Guy.”

Michael Beale, president, Professional Speaking Association East of England

You: are running an event, you need a speaker to add value for your clients and prospects.

Me: I’m Guy Clapperton, technology journalist and commentator for 30 years, and I can offer a different perspective for your delegates.

Many people – and loads of them are excellent – will offer a futurist, 20, 30 year forecast on how business and the world are going to shape up. I prefer to look into the shorter term and give something people can action when they’re back in the office, to help foster an attitude of investigating what’s likely to happen in the near future and work with it.

You want to know what’s likely in the next 30 years? I’m going to retire, that’s what. In the much shorter term we’re likely to see increasingly large amounts of automation, we may see companies putting chips in their employees (no, really, this is happening right now), we’ll see artificial intelligence taking over as business managers (again, this is actually happening).

My aim as a keynote speaker is to add value to your event by setting your delegates thinking about how they run their business and how they approach technology: are they running according to old rules when the world has changed? By the time they leave, they’ll have strategies to revise their thinking regularly – and run better businesses as a result.

After all this time I’ve spotted trends coming and going; I was one of the first journalists in the UK to be paid for online writing, I wrote one of the first books on social media for business. Take a look at the video at the top of this page for an idea of what I could do for your business.

If you want your delegates challenged to think differently, to Stop, Evaluate and Act so they get to the SEA change, I’m happy to help.
